It's a pleasure to read a well-balanced article in all this buzz. I think you're exactly right with the "living room computer". This device is not that much of a mobile device Apple wants to make us believe.

I am looking forward to see building simulation games on this class of devices. The direct interaction UI paradigm could make them a lot more fun.

On the other hand, I see Apple getting less creative. It's the same old "sync your music an stuff" again. This is not the way to go. I am still waiting for the easy to use home server.

Without a doubt, the iPad will be a success for Apple. However I don't think it will be a revolution. All these "my mum/my grandma" people all those podcasters and bloggers think the iPad would be great for are either perfectly happy without computers (grandma) or happy if the computer at home works the same way as the computer at work (mom, Word, email, print)

Re: The iPad ... it tastes just like chicken!

Yes of course the screen is gorgeous and the backlight is easily and quickly adjustable. Turning pages is much faster, cover art is gorgeous, the dictionary is easier to use, and full color illustrations are awesomely represented.

Re: Interview in Germany's #1 College Magazine: The Google Experience and CS Careers

wow nicht schlecht!

Re: Cola: Real-Time Shared Editing - Screencast

I think it's a great idea for collaborating. And reference is going to be destructed since it is local to incrementBar.
Same doesnt apply to incrementReassignedBar because the local copy is assigned to another local object that is going to be killed soon after method is executed. Great primitive topic most of the devs dont understand :)

Re: Macbook Pro Modding: Resurrection of the Rainbow Apple

would you happen to know the dimension in pixels of the apple logo on the front of the macbook pro?

Re: Space Siege Preview for gamesTM

Hey Mustafa, where do I get this cool poster about design patterns?

Re: Macbook Pro Modding: Resurrection of the Rainbow Apple

Alternatively you can get the apple logo sticker from here
http://www.skinstyler.com/m...
Using this will not void your warranty for taking apart the LCD.

Re: Review: I Love Katamari (iPhone/iPod Touch)

AFAIK this is the only 3D Katamari Damacy game for a phone platform.

Re: Review: I Love Katamari (iPhone/iPod Touch)

Hier muss Namco dringend nachbessern.

Re: Cola: Real-Time Shared Editing - Screencast

Has Cola: Real-Time Shared Editing something to do Rational Team Concert based onJazz ?

Re: Cola: Real-Time Shared Editing - Screencast

Has Cola: Real-Time Shared Editing something to do Rational Team Concert based onJazz ?

Re: Cola: Real-Time Shared Editing - Screencast

there is also freeware for screencasting under osx availible: http://www.juniortan.com/Pu...
